Dopey Dappy: Sorry for backing killer

RAP dimwit Dappy yesterday apologised to a murdered headmaster’s family — after calling for his killer’s release.

The Sun told yesterday how the widow of brave Philip Lawrence was upset by the plea to free knife thug Learco Chindamo.

But the N-Dubz nincompoop, 25, claimed he never even realised what the convict’s crime was. He said sorry via Twitter to the family of the teacher, 48, who was killed in 1995 breaking up a fight at his West London school.

But even his apology was hamfisted — misspelling their name. His message said: “My heart goes out to Mr Laurence’s family and I know the pain of losing a loved one, sincerely Daps.”

It came hours after The Sun revealed that a message in his new video out on YouTube declared: “Free Leo Chindamo.”

Chindamo, 31, served 14 years for murder and was freed — only to be recalled for violating his release terms.

Dappy’s demand has now been cut from his video — and earnings from the track will go to charity.

In his tweet apology, the star — who went to Chindamo’s school — admitted he knew the killer’s brother years ago. But he added: “I certainly didn’t know about his past.”

The head’s widow Frances, of Ham, West London, remained unconvinced.

She said: “I was particularly disappointed as I am quite a rap fan myself.

“I would be happy to meet with Dappy and talk to him.”
