A website built to defend Frank Oceans Homophobic tweets

Twitter users are countering negative remarks against artist Frank Ocean with kindness after his recent love letter received much attention online.
The letter, which Ocean posted on Tumblr, was about his first love at age 19. The person happened to be a man.
“By the time I realized I was in love, it was malignant. It was hopeless. There was no escaping, no negotiating with the feeling. No choice. It was my first love, it changed my life,” Ocean reveals in the letter.
Many Twitter users have responded negatively to Ocean. Jacob Åström and his friends have createdhatetweetstofrankocean.com, intending to fight back with a positive message.
Visitors to the site can scroll through the gallery of hateful tweets. If they so choose, they can reply to them with tweets of the their own, stating “It’s not who you love – it’s *that* you love that truly matters.”
According to Ã…ström, the back-end of the site requires a lot of manual work. The team — which includes Martin Löfqvist, Isak Burström, Andreas Palmerén and Rebecka Hedström — is filtering through tweets to Ocean or about him, then retweeting them from an account synced to publish on Tumblr.
“I doubt that it is even a millionth of a fraction as tiresome as it is for the actual Frank Ocean, who has to withstand this constant stream of awful tweets,” adds Ã…ström.
The site, which was made Monday, is already gaining traction.
Celebrities like Beyonce have also responded on Tumblr to Ocean’s letter.
