The decided to stick the model to a pavement in the Leidseplein, one of Amsterdam's busiest squares, with super glue and set up a video camera to capture the results.
The iPhone's shiny casing was something of a beacon to passers by. Most attempted to pick the handset up before realising it was glued to the floor and hurrying off red faced and giggling.
Others spotted the phone and looked around shiftily before casually reaching down to scoop it from the concrete.

Some got angry, kicking the phone in an attempt to release it from the pavement. One girl even stamped and jumped on the handset.
At least the rather amusing experiment proves one thing: the new model is certainly durable - even if the battery life is still a bit iffy.
