Timbaland - Speaks on Jay Z's The Holy Grail

Timbaland did an interview with Revolt TV recently and spoke on the process of creating Jay-Z‘s ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail. The first half of the interview sees Tim talk about how he and Jay-Z squashed a personal beef and decided to get back into a working relationship. He then explained what records on the album he was involved in and how they came about. Tim is very clear when he says that ultimately, the disagreement between him and Jay was due to his immaturity, and that the “old Tim” wouldn’t have been willing to work with other producers to put this album together.

And then the sixteen minute conversation begins to stray into other artists, including Kanye West. According to Timbaland, Kanye’s ‘Yeezus’ is a great album, but a follow-up album with him and Kanye running it would be even better, a logical continuation. Of course it would, Tim. He then goes on to talk about the new generation of artists, such as J. Cole and Drake, and at each name he mentions his interaction with them and how he could help them take their projects to the next level. But then he takes it one step further, calling the younger generation “his children.”

Clearly, Timbaland has no confidence issues. His last boast might be the most grandiose of them all: He thinks that Justin Timberlake‘s upcoming album, ‘The 20/20 Experience Pt. 2,’ will not only outsell the first one, but will sell nearly 2 million copies in its first week. Looks like we’ll have to wait and find out.
